Overseas Voting
Overseas Voting Registration to Start on 16 December 2019 until 30 September 2021
The Philippine Consulate General in Sydney (PCG Sydney) informs the public that for purposes of the 9 May 2022 elections, COMELEC fixes the registration period for overseas voting from 16 December 2019 to 30 September 2021.
Pursuant to the above, PCG Sydney shall first verify if passport renewal applicants are registered overseas voters before proceeding with the renewal of the passport. If the applicant is not registered, PCG Sydney shall register the applicant first.
This procedure applies to all Filipino migrants, overseas workers, seafarers, dual citizens and qualified Filipino students studying in Australia.
All citizens of the Philippines, who are abroad or will be abroad during the thirty (30) day voting period (9 April to 9 May 2022); at least eighteen (18) years of age on the day of the elections; and not otherwise disqualified by law, may register.
Kindly bring a copy of your passport or dual citizenship documents for dual citizens or Seaman’s book for seafarers. Application for registration (OVF No. 1) is available at the Philippine Consulate or may be downloaded here (OV Forms).
Requirements:
- Filipino Citizens: Philippine Passport
- Dual Citizens: Philippine Passport or Identification Certificate, Oath of Allegiance or Order of Approval
- Seafarers: Philippine Passport or Seafarer’s book
All Filipino citizens who are abroad or who will be abroad during the 30-day voting period from 9 April to 9 May 2022, at least 18 years of age and not disqualified by law may visit the Philippine Consulate to register during office hours from 9:00 am to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
During the registration period the Consulate will accept applications for Registration, Certification, Change of Address, Correction or Entries, Reinstatement and Reactivation for purposes of the May 9, 2022 National elections. END
